MONTESSORI EXCEPTIONS AND WAIVERS

FOR CHILDCARE LICENSURE

 

Montessori organizations recommend higher student:teacher ratios that current state legislation. One step toward compromise was passed in 2022. This rule recognizes the nature of multi-age classrooms found in Montessori schools and allows staffing based on the AVERAGE AGE in a classroom on January 1 (vs. the youngest child in the room) in 3-6 year old classrooms.
