About the Role

Job duties include but are not limited to:

*keeping children physically and emotionally safe
*providing a personalized education and a prepared environment driven by Montessori philosophy and curriculum based on regular observations
*using Positive Discipline philosophy and tools to support social/emotional learning and challenging behaviors
*keeping families well informed of their child’s development, concerns and progress
*supporting and supervising of classroom assistant/intern, with regular communications
*educating parents of Montessori philosophy/curriculum and child development, including presenting parent workshops and sending newsletters

Requirements


Qualifications and Skills/Experience: Bachelor's Degree, Montessori credential

*Must hold a Montessori credential (from an AMS affiliated program, an AMI program, or a program accredited by MACTE ) or be enrolled in a program to obtain one, and must present a credential certificate as evidence.

*Qualifying candidates need to be kind, compassionate, enthusiastic, promote a positive attitude, and have a love for working with children ages 3-6 years old.

*Having a growth mindset and self-awareness is important for learning positive/long-term ways to connect with children and redirect misbehavior using Positive Discipline philosophy and tools. Must have had Positive Discipline training or be willing to complete training.

*Must have the physical capacity to work with young children and also have effective communication skills, both written and oral.

*Prior experience working with groups of children, even possibly in a Montessori environment is highly preferred *CPR/First-Aid certification is required (if not already, it will be required as part of the training) *Minimum of an Associate’s Degree Professional development opportunities are provided. Compensation is based on a scale.
